Because of the new policy of the DFA that requires personal appearance for those renewing to the new Machine-Readable Passports, there are some important changes you need to know.

• Personal appearance is required for your thumbprints. However, as a Passport Direct customer, you are entitled to a priority lane that reduces the time spent at the DFA to around 30 minutes only.
• There are revised requirements for the passport application. Please see our Requirements page for more details.
